Who we are and who uses Curbline
Curbline is dispatch, billing, and driver software for non-emergency medical transportation companies. Our customers are the transport operators who license the software. Their staff and drivers sign in to use it, and their passengers' trip details are stored in it.
If you are a passenger and you want to know what a transport company holds about you, or you want it corrected or deleted, contact that company directly — they control their own records. We act on their instructions and will help them respond.
What we collect
We hold three kinds of information:
- Account information for the people who sign in: name, work email, phone number, role, and a hashed password. Drivers may also have license, CPR, and other certification records their employer uploads for compliance.
- Trip information entered by the operator: passenger name, contact details, pickup and drop-off addresses, appointment times, mobility needs (for example wheelchair or stretcher), the facility or broker responsible for the trip, and notes staff add to run the trip safely.
- Operational records created as work happens: driver location while a trip is active, trip status timestamps, mileage and odometer readings, photos of receipts or vehicle issues, signatures where captured, and payment records.
Some of this is health-related — a passenger's mobility needs or dialysis schedule says something about their health. We treat all trip information as confidential and never use it for advertising.
Location data in the driver app
The driver app collects location only while a driver is on an active trip, so dispatch and the passenger's family can see the vehicle's progress. On iPhone, the app can continue reporting location while it is in the background during a trip — that is why iOS asks for "Always" permission. Location collection stops when the trip ends or the driver clocks out, and drivers can revoke the permission at any time in iOS Settings.
We never track drivers outside of working trips, and we do not sell or share location data.
How we use it
We use the information solely to provide the service: showing drivers their runs, letting dispatch assign and monitor trips, producing quotes, invoices and receipts, calculating payroll hours from clock-ins, sending trip notifications by email or text, and generating the operator's own reports. Some reporting and drafting features send text you have entered to an AI provider to summarize it; those providers do not use it to train models.
We also use limited technical logs to keep the service running securely and to diagnose problems.
We do not sell your data
Curbline does not sell personal information, does not share it with advertisers, and does not use passenger or driver data to build advertising profiles.
Who else touches the data
We rely on a small set of service providers to operate: cloud hosting and database providers, an email delivery service, a text-messaging provider, payment processors for card transactions, a mapping and geocoding provider, a push-notification service, and an AI provider for summary features. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function, and each is bound by contract to protect it.
Card numbers are handled by the payment processor, not by us — Curbline stores only a token reference and the last four digits.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is scoped so each transport company can only reach its own records, and staff roles limit what each user can see. Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form. No system is perfect, so we also keep audit trails of significant changes.
How long we keep it
We keep records for as long as the transport company's account is active, because trip, payroll, and billing history is what the software is for. Operators can delete individual records themselves. When an account closes, we delete or return its data on request, except where we must keep something to meet a legal or tax obligation.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete personal information about you, and to object to certain processing. Passengers should contact the transport company that arranged their ride. Staff and drivers can contact their employer or reach us at the address below and we will route the request.
Children
Curbline is business software and is not intended for use by children. Passengers may be minors when a family or facility arranges medical transport for them; in that case the record is created and controlled by the transport company, not by the child.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be communicated to account owners directly.
